About HBTC
HBTC is the regions longest running Triathlon club, established in 1989. With dedication from volunteers our club continues to grow and develop every year. Our club is the only club in the region to run regular local triathlons and duathlons. This season we will be running our traditional club series, the Hit FM Fifty, Beachhouse Hervey Bay 100 "The Hundy" and our all new Junction Swim series! Check out our events calendar page for all our race info. The HBTC committee is a community conscious bunch and like to give back where we can. Every year the Hervey Bay 100 bursary donates substantial funds to Hervey Bay Sunrise Rotary Club, Hervey Bay Surf Club, Mans Walk Hervey Bay, Bears Aussie Rules Club and many many more small charities and school groups.
Hervey Bay is an idyllic location for the sport of triathlon with our beautiful calm and safe swimming waters. The majority of our races are held on the Esplanade, allowing you to take in the beautiful views as you ride and run. Hervey Bay is situated just 4 hours north of Brisbane, an hour south of Bundaberg. Off the coast we have World Heritage listed K'Gari (Fraser Island), just a short boat trip away. Our picturesque bay is known as the Whale Watching Capital of Australia.
We are an all inclusive club and cater for competitors from ages 5 to 105. People of all fitness levels and abilities are welcome, from elite to beginner and including the disabled. HBTC has produced some outstanding Triathletes and we believe we have some future champions in the making. Stay tuned to our blog post for athlete profiles and acheivements.
Mums & Dads with kids thinking of getting into triathlon, have a look at our Juniors Page for all the info you need. Our focus for Juniors aged 5 to 12 is fun, safety and involvement; and learning the ropes of triathlon. For Juniors 12 and over who are keen to train and show potential in the sport, we have free coaching available. Please feel free to contact our helpful committee if you require further information. You can check out our Facebook page and post your questions there too.
HBTC is a not for profit club and we try to keep our memberhsip and race entry fees to minimum. If you would like to sponsor our club please contact the committee. We are always seeking new sponsors and even the smallest of assistance is greatly appreciated. We encourage all our members and competitors to support our sponsors.
